Welding production of NPO Passat is certified according to DIN EN ISO 3834-2 and EN 1090-2 standards. Welding technologies are certified in accordance with the requirements of STB ISO 15614-1, STB ISO 15614-5, as well as DIN EN ISO 15614-1:2017+A1:2019. Welding works are coordinated by a specialist qualified as an International Welding Engineer.

Our welders are certified to perform the following types of welding:

  • TIG welding of carbon and high-alloy steels,

  • mechanized shielded gas welding of carbon and high-alloy steels (MIG/MAG),

  • manual arc welding with covered electrodes of carbon and high-alloy steels (MMA),

  • welding of alloy/Monel 400 alloys (TIG) with a non-consumable electrode in shielding gases,

  • welding of titanium VT1-0 (TIG) with a non-consumable electrode in shielding gases,

  • automatic submerged-arc welding of carbon and high-alloyed alloys.

CULTURE OF PRODUCTION

The quality management system at Passat Research and Production Association is certified for compliance with STB ISO 9001-2015.

We have a full incoming quality control. It includes control of supplied metal, welding materials and components.

To prepare parts for welding we use abrasive materials of 3M, Pferd brands, to degrease parts - special means of 3M, Loctite and their analogues;

We use Lincoln Electric welding equipment (AristoMIG 4004i Pulse models); ESAB (AristoMIG 4004i Pulse models), as well as ESAB and Böhler welding consumables.

We carry out preparation, assembly, visual and capillary inspection of welds.

APPLIED INSPECTION METHODS

Non-destructive inspection:

  • visual inspection,

  • control by penetrating substances,

  • ultrasonic flaw detection,

  • radiographic inspection,

  • vibrodiagnostics,

  • spectroscopy,

  • tightness control.

Destructive testing:

  • mechanical testing,

  • metallographic analysis,

  • tests for susceptibility to intercrystalline corrosion.

TYPES OF STEELS USED

  • AISI 304L, 316L, 316Ti, 321 austenitic stainless steels and their analogues,

  • duplex stainless steels of AISI 2205 type (EN 1.4462),

  • copper-nickel alloys such as Monel 400 (EN 2.4360), and carbon steels clad with copper-nickel alloy,

  • titanium Wt1-0.
