Column flotation machines
Column flotation machines are designed for recleaning operation of fine-grained sylvinic flotation. At the feed volume of 380 m3/h and mass fraction of KCl in the initial feed of 53% the machine provides KCl content in the froth product not lower than 82% at the granulometric composition of less than 0.15 mm. The height of the flotation machine is 10 meters with a working chamber diameter of 4.5 meters.
The flotation machine is supplied as a complete unit with a pump park, shut-off and control valves and automation system.
Column flotation machine has a number of design features:
- low ratio of surface area to chamber volume - increases the stability of the froth bed;
-
use of chamber product, part of which is introduced into the column under pressure to form air microbubbles;
-
adjustable air supply system ensures the creation of the required number of bubbles of the required size;
-
foam washing system allows to stabilize the foam layer and reduce the amount of unnecessary impurities in the foam product;
- geometrical features of the column provide the flotation process in a calm (laminar) upward flow, which allows to increase the selectivity of the process;
-
the system of feed distribution into the column provides uniform distribution of material over the column volume and reduces the possibility of turbulent (turbulent) flows;
-
internal circular foam chutes of the column provide foam stability, and reduce the distance of the bubble loaded with mineral KCl to the chute;
-
the system of water supply for washing during potash flotation prevents crystallisation (overgrowth) of air supply holes and provides uniform distribution of air over the entire column;
-
there are no mechanical stirring units and, accordingly, there is no intensive mixing, which provides high selectivity of the flotation process and favours the recovery of fine fractions of KCl.
