A New Type of Product is a Column Flotation Machine
To carry out the cleaning operation of fine-grained sylvite flotation, NPO Passat will supply in 2024 a new type of flotation machine - a column type. With a feed volume of 380 m3.
The flotation machine is supplied as a complete unit with a pumps, shut-off and control valves and an automation system.
The column flotation machine has a number of design features:
- low surface area to chamber volume ratio - increases the stability of the foam layer;
- the use of a chamber product, part of which is introduced into the column under pressure to form air microbubbles;
- an adjustable air supply system ensures the creation of the required number of bubbles of the required size;
- the foam washing system allows you to stabilize the foam layer and reduce the amount of unnecessary impurities in the foam product;
- the geometric features of the column ensure that the flotation process proceeds in a quiet (laminar) ascending flow, which makes it possible to increase the selectivity of the process;
- the power supply distribution system to the column ensures uniform distribution of material throughout the volume of the column and reduces the possibility of turbulent (stormy) flows;
- The column's internal circular foam troughs ensure foam stability and reduce the distance of the KCl mineral-laden bubble to the trough;
- the water supply system for washing during flotation of potash ores prevents crystallization (clogging) of the air supply holes and ensures uniform air distribution throughout the column;
- there are no mechanical mixing units and, accordingly, no intensive mixing, which ensures high selectivity of the flotation process and facilitates the extraction of fine fractions of KCl.
